Rainbow Lorikeet:
Trichoglossus haematodus
-
The 'Rainbow Lorikeet' is, as the
name suggests, literally all the colours of the rainbow.
-
It is found along the
east coast and throughout the tropics of Australia where it can be very common
and numerous. I
-
t is often heard whizzing by in flocks above the rainforest
canopy.
-
Due to the height and thickness of the canopy, these birds are more
commonly noticed on the edge of the forest or in urban areas where there are
appropriate flowering trees..
