WHITE-BELLIED SEA-EAGLE: Haliaeetus leucogaster A large white bird of prey with grey wings. In flight its body and leading half of the wing are white, while the trailing edge of the wings are black, with a short, rounded fanned tail. The female is usually larger than the male It is often seen above coastal rainforest. Feeds on small mammals, fish, turtles, snakes and crustaceans Like the Wedge Tailed Eagle, this bird builds very large nests (up to two metres) of sticks, bark and leaves; high up in trees. Has a cackling call.
