WHITE-BELLIED SEA-EAGLE:
Haliaeetus leucogaster

A large white bird of prey with
grey wings.
-
In flight its body and leading half of the wing are white, while the
trailing edge of the wings are black, with a short, rounded fanned tail.

The female is usually larger
than the male
-
It is
often seen above coastal rainforest.
-
Feeds on small mammals, fish,
turtles, snakes and crustaceans
-
Like the Wedge Tailed Eagle,
this bird builds very large nests (up to two metres) of sticks, bark and
leaves; high up in trees.
-
Has a cackling call.
