Red-tailed Black Cockatoo: Calyptorhychus banksii

• A huge black cockatoo with red undersides to their tails.

• It is usually seen in flocks, flying low over the horizon and calling.

Distribution:

• It can be found throughout much of the continent, but is sparse, being only a little more common in the tropical woodlands of monsoonal Australia.

Call:

• The call is a distinctive wavering, screech-like trill.
